The Telephone Preference Service

The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) was set up to deal with unwanted telesales and marketing calls. It is funded by the direct marketing industry. TPS is a free central opt out register on which consumers can record a preference not to receive unsolicited sales and marketing calls to their home or mobile telephone numbers. The Fax Preference Service is a similar scheme. The Panel has shared its views on TPS with Ofcom and Government.
