Phone-paid Services

Phone-paid services – also known as Premium Rate Services – offer some form of content charged to a phone bill or a pre-pay phone account. These services can be accessed by a landline or mobile phone, fax, interactive TV by using the red button on the remote control or by PC in e-mails or on the internet. The money paid by consumers is shared between the phone network carrying the service and the organisation(s) providing the content. Most phone-paid services are run responsibly and do not cause concern. Typical services include helplines, competitions, mobile ringtone and logo downloads, voting, news and sports alerts, information and adult entertainment.
