Communications Review

In May 2011, the Government issued a call for evidence on how to reduce regulatory burdens on the UK communications sector and future-proof it for the digital age.

In an open letter, Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport Jeremy Hunt, set out three key themes for consultation:

  • growth, innovation and deregulation;
  • a communications infrastructure that provides the foundations for growth; and
  • creating the right environment for the content industry to thrive.

The Panel’s response to the open letter can be found here (pdf).
