Freedom of Information

“The Panel is subject to the Freedom of Information Act (FoI) and the Data Protection Act (DPA) – information on both is available on the Information Commissioner’s website.

Under the FoI Act, you can request any recorded information that the Panel holds.  We will respond with the information, or an explanation of why it cannot be released within 20 working days.  If you would like to make a request please email contact@communicationsconsumerpanel.org.uk, including your name, contact details and as much detail about the information you require as possible. In providing you with information, we can recover our reasonable costs incurred in contacting you to inform you the information is held and providing you with the information. This includes, but is not limited to, the costs of reproducing any document containing the information, e.g. printing or photocopying (at 10p a page), postage and the cost of providing you with the information in a specified format.

The DPA Act also entitles you to request information from the Panel, but only that which relates to yourself.  We will respond with any information we hold or an explanation of why we can’t release it, within 40 calendar days.  If you would like to make a DPA request please email contact@communicationsconsumerpanel.org.uk, including your name, contact details and as much detail as possible about what information you are looking for. We don’t want to release information to the wrong person so will ask for confirmation of identity before processing a DPA request.
